As you are all probably aware we have just come to the end of a fun filled District Camp at Bibby’s Farm with over 600 people from across South Ribble. I just wanted to talk about some of my highlights of the weekend as a leader who used to attend District Camp as a Beaver, Cub and Scout and still laugh about memories shared with friends
Throughout the weekend I saw many memories being made with children from different sections within the group, but I also saw memories and friendships being created between Beavers, and Scouts this may seem an unlikely combination a teenager and 6-year-old but when you see the care and bond that they have created it is heartwarming. For those who have watched Inside Out (Disney) the children have created core memories, these are things that they will never forget. And will tell others about for many years to come.
I just wanted to add for any parents who are unsure about sending their child to camp, send them on camp it’s not just the activities they miss out on but everything that goes along with it. I don’t think there is any way to describe it, it’s a feeling and you only realise it when you are sat at home thinking about it. Don’t just take my word for it, here are some of the comments from the parents whose child went on camp
“A said she had the best time at camp. I’ve loved her telling me all about the fun she’s had”.
“L had the best time, thank you all so much for gifting the kids this amazing experience”.
“Thank you so much for everything! A had a fantastic time!”
“Thanks to everyone involved and making it all happen and such good fun for the children”.
“He had the BEST weekend this weekend”.
Thank you for your continued support
